Representative Matters
- Advise luxury home building and development company in complex urban redevelopment projects, including land acquisition, due diligence, financing, and development
- Prepare and negotiate consumer sale contracts for completed residences; residential and commercial construction contracts; and limited warranty documents
- Advise custom home builder in the documentation, negotiation, and administration of contracts for the construction of a 22,000 sq. ft. custom home, including land conveyance with seller financing, extended design phase, and construction contract
- Counsel national home builder in documenting and improving subcontractor and supplier relationships and developing subcontractor safety policies in light of OSHA’s Multi-Employer Work-Site Policy
- Participate in the defense and prosecution of claims under the Residential Construction Liability Act, including property inspections; selection and hiring of expert witnesses (e.g., structural engineers; surveyors; and flooring, HVAC, and water-penetration specialists); and the exchange of substantive written communications with insurers and opposing counsel
