Stephen focuses his practice on delivering practical solutions to clients engaged in business transactions, residential and commercial development and construction projects, complex real estate transactions, and related financing activities. Stephen advises individuals and small businesses on a variety of business and consulting agreements, residential and light-commercial construction and real estate contracts, purchase-and-sale agreements, deeds, lien releases, employment agreements, loan documents, and deed restrictions.  Stephen also participates in dispute resolution and advises clients regarding the formation and governance of business organizations. 


Stephen graduated cum laude from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law.  During law school, Stephen served as Senior Articles Editor of the Arizona Law Review, and was elected Vice President of the Student Bar Association. Before law school, Stephen was a professional percussionist and music educator. Stephen has performed with professional symphony orchestras, jazz ensembles, and many other groups, and was Director of Percussion Studies and Assistant Director of Bands at South Dakota State University from 2002–2007.   

  

Stephen is a member of the Construction, Real-Estate, Corporate Counsel, and Solo and Small-Firm sections of the State Bar of Texas. Stephen is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, and served as Chair of the Construction Section of the Tarrant County Bar Association from August 2017–July 2018.  Stephen is an active member of the Texas Association of Builders and served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Houston Builders Association in 2015 and 2016. 


Stephen is a regular guest lecturer at the Texas A&M School of Law, speaking on law practice management. Stephen regularly presents educational seminars at the National Association of Home Builders, International Builders Show, on topics related to residential construction law, including the following: ​​
